Watch Acoustic Sets from Backstage at Bonnaroo!

Everest, the Low Anthem, Alberta Cross & three more acts play unplugged at SPIN's festival campsite.
The Low Anthem

Sadly, we weren't allowed to build an actual fire at our Bonnaroo campsite, but we still kept a "Kumbayah" spirit afloat by inviting some of our favorite up-and-coming bands to visit our RV compound and play tunes for a few special guests -- including YOU, our beloved reader!

At Bonnaroo's Budweiser Troo Music Lounge, a little oasis where fans cool off, browse the internet, and have a cold one, up-and-coming acts took the stage for their featured Bonnaroo sets. And in between those sets, SPIN invited bands from around the festival to sit down for interviews with our own Peter Gaston.

Festival Faves: Bonnaroo '08

Bonnaroo may have to take a cue from across the pond and rename its host city Madchester for a weekend, as there was plenty of crazy time to be had. Scroll below to watch video of particularly potent acoustic performances, special for SPIN, by Broken Social Scene, Gogol Bordello, and others.

What we learned this week: Amy Winehouse smokes 'em when she's got 'em. Even when she's got emphysema. Paul Weller's not into dustbowl towns. And much much more.

It's one thing when the Empire strikes back, but wait till you get a load of Kanye's rebuttal to the Bonnaroo scuttlebutt. But West was just one of may artists who made the week memorable, as you will read below.

Kanye West Finally Addresses Bonnaroo Incident

After receiving the wrath of concertgoers for appearing on stage two hours late, the hip-hop maven takes to the Web and sounds off.

As previously reported, Kanye West left more than a few Bonnaroo concertgoers with a sour scowl after he failed to hit the festival's main stage on time, pushing his set -- already moved from 8:45 P.M. June 14 -- back and forcing fans to wait.

Backstage at Bonnaroo: Dead Confederate

Hardy Morris, singer/guitarist of the Athens, GA-based psych-rockers, strums through "Wrecking Ball," the title track off their debut full-length, out Sept. 16.

Requesting a loose and reverb-drenched mix, Hardy Morris, singer/guitarist of Dead Confederate, plucks and strums through "Wrecking Ball" at SPIN.com's Bonnaroo tent backstage, unveiling the dark, powerful title track off the outfit's forthcoming debut full-length, out Sept. 16. "That's what it sounds like when you drink all day," Morris quips of the potent tune and its saturated sound.
